TOUR SUMMARY

Get closer to Hungary’s past and present with this historical Budapest tour. After a quick minibus ride enter through one of the former gates and reach Castle District.

Listen to tales and anecdotes guarded by the walls of the centuries old buildings, hear about old and new functions of these houses, and stories about the life of the area’s inhabitants. During the walk admire the beautiful architecture and see the reflection of the old in the windows of the new when you pass by the famous Hilton Hotel.

Before finishing your tour, we will take you into Matthias Church, the masterpiece of the district. The interior visit will surely amaze you.

Take a last glimpse of the amazing view from Fishermen’s Bastion and hop on the public bus to head to the other side of River Danube,  to discover Pest.

Enjoy lunch at your own expenses in a local eatery and try some traditional Hungarian dishes such as goulash soup or some lesser know delicacies recommended by your local guide.

Walk by the grandiose Saint Stephen’s Cathedral and stroll the buzzing pedestrian streets around it.

Next, we are off to catch the oldest electrified underground line of continental Europe, dating back to the 19th century. After a short ride we arrive at the famous Heroes’ Square,  one of the most beautiful sights of our city.

We’ll take a relaxing walk under the trees of City Park before heading back to the downtown. Back at Andrássy Avenue, near the iconic building of the Hungarian State Opera House, before saying good-bye, we will taste a delicious slice of cake in a traditional coffee house.
